Ingredients
Method
- Fill about 1/3 of the mason jar with water.
- Add a small amount of your first paint color (e.g. blue) and mix until fully blended.
- Pull apart a few cotton balls and stuff them into the jar, pushing them down until they soak up the colored water.
- Add a pinch of glitter if desired for a star-like sparkle.
- Pour another 1/3 of water into the jar and mix with a different paint color.
- Add more pulled-apart cotton balls into the jar, pushing them down into the new layer.
- Repeat the process with a third color (or more), layering additional paint colors and cotton until the jar is full.
- Seal the mason jar tightly with the lid.
Notes
Use complementary colors next to each other for a smooth gradient. Avoid overmixing the water once the cotton is added to preserve the layered effect. For a magical glow, add glow-in-the-dark paint.
