DIY Aroma Stones: A Natural Way to Scent Your Space — Savory Splash

Create your own decorative and fragrant aroma stones using simple household ingredients and your favorite essential oils. Perfect for natural air freshening around the home or as thoughtful handmade gifts.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ⅓ to ½ cup warm water adjust as needed for dough consistency
  • 5 to 10 drops essential oils your choice of scent
  • Optional natural colorants or dried herbs for decoration or added scent

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine baking soda and cornstarch.
  2. Slowly add warm water, stirring continuously until a soft, moldable dough forms.
  3. If using natural colorants or dried herbs, gently mix them into the dough.
  4. Press the dough into silicone molds or shape it by hand as desired.
  5. Allow the aroma stones to air dry for 24 to 48 hours, turning them occasionally for even drying.
  6. Once fully dry, add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil to each stone.
  7. Let the oils absorb before placing the stones around your home or packaging as gifts.

Notes

Use silicone molds for easy shaping and removal. Store dried aroma stones in an airtight container until ready to use. Refresh the scent by adding more essential oil as needed. These stones are decorative and not meant for ingestion or use on skin.
