Description
This Pickle Popcorn Recipe is a tangy, savory snack made in just 5 minutes with pantry staples. Perfect for movie nights, kids, and anyone who loves a salty, dill-flavored treat. Budget-friendly and totally crave-worthy!
Ingredients
½ cup popcorn kernels
2–3 tbsp oil (for stovetop popping)
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp pickle juice
1 tsp dried dill
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper, to taste
Optional: A pinch of onion powder or dash of red pepper flakes
Instructions
-
Pop the Popcorn: Heat 2–3 tablespoons of oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add 2–3 kernels and wait for them to pop. Add the remaining kernels, cover with a lid, and shake the pot gently every few seconds. Once the popping slows, remove from heat. (Alternatively, use an air popper or microwave popcorn—go easy on salt if pre-seasoned.)
-
Prepare Butter Mix: Melt butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the pickle juice and set aside.
-
Make the Seasoning: In a separate bowl, mix together dried dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add onion powder or red pepper flakes, if using.
-
Season the Popcorn: Transfer popcorn to a large bowl. Drizzle the butter-pickle mixture over it and toss to coat. Sprinkle on the seasoning and toss again to evenly distribute.
-
Serve & Enjoy: Serve immediately while warm and crisp.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a day, though it’s best fresh.
Try it with kettle corn for a sweet-and-sour twist.
