Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
1 tbsp olive oil (only if using lean meat)
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup water
8 gluten-free taco shells (hard or soft)
Optional toppings:
Shredded lettuce
Diced tomato
Shredded cheese
Avocado
Salsa
Sour cream
Instructions
-
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary. If using lean meat, add olive oil before cooking.
-
Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and water.
-
Simmer the mixture on low for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Meanwhile, warm the gluten-free taco shells according to package directions (usually 350°F for 3–5 minutes).
-
Assemble tacos with seasoned meat and desired toppings. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a budget-friendly, vegetarian version, substitute ground meat with canned black beans or lentils. You can also prep the meat in advance and reheat for busy nights.
