Description

This viral chopped Italian sandwich takes everything you love in a classic sub—salty deli meats, crisp lettuce, creamy dressing, and zippy banana peppers—and chops it all into a bold, flavorful salad-sandwich hybrid. It’s quick, customizable, and utterly crave-worthy.

Ingredients

Scale

4 slices salami

4 slices ham

4 slices pepperoni

2 slices provolone cheese (or mozzarella, Swiss, or cheddar)

1 cup shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce

1 small tomato, diced

2 tablespoons diced red onion

2 tablespoons banana peppers (or pickles), chopped

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Italian dressing

1 teaspoon red wine vinegar

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 sub rolls or hoagie buns (or ciabatta)

Instructions

  • On a large cutting board, pile the salami, ham, pepperoni, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and banana peppers.

  • Chop everything together thoroughly until well combined and finely chopped.

  • Add mayonnaise, Italian dressing, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper directly onto the chopped mixture.

  • Continue chopping to incorporate the condiments evenly throughout the mixture.

  • Scoop the chopped filling into your sub rolls or preferred bread.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Customize with cucumbers, hot giardiniera, olives, or other favorite sandwich toppings.

Perfect for meal prepping or serving as a sandwich bar for guests.

For a low-carb option, serve the chopped mix in lettuce wraps or on top of greens.
