Chocolate Covered Pecans: The Sweet Snack You’ll Want to Make Over and Over Again

  • Author: Alyssa
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: About 2 cups (approximately 16 servings) 1x

Description

These Chocolate Covered Pecans are an irresistible treat made with buttery toasted pecans and rich melted chocolate. Perfect for holiday gifts, parties, or a simple homemade indulgence!

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups pecan halves (toasted for best flavor)

8 oz good-quality chocolate (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)

Optional: flaky sea salt, cinnamon, crushed candy canes for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread pecans on a baking sheet and toast for 5–7 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.

  2. Break chocolate into small pieces and melt in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.

  3. Pour toasted pecans into the melted chocolate and stir to coat completely.

  4. Using a fork, lift pecans out one by one (or a few at a time) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Group 2–3 pecans together for clusters, if desired.

  5. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with flaky sea salt, cinnamon, or crushed candy canes if using.

  6. Refrigerate the tray for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.

  7. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate if your home is warm.

Notes

Use fresh pecans for the best buttery flavor.

Choose high-quality chocolate you enjoy eating on its own.

Customize by stirring cinnamon into the melted chocolate or drizzling with white chocolate for a decorative touch.

Allow pecans to set fully before packaging to avoid smudging.
