Description

This Chicken and Shrimp Stir Fry is a vibrant, protein-packed dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Made with tender chicken, juicy shrimp, and a colorful array of vegetables tossed in a savory garlic-ginger sauce, it’s a quick and healthy meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 carrot, thinly sliced

1 small onion, sliced

3 tbsp vegetable or canola oil, divided

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tbsp honey or brown sugar

Optional: sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and honey or brown sugar to create the stir fry sauce. Set aside.

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through (5–7 minutes). Remove and set aside.

  • Add another tbsp of oil to the pan. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque (2–3 minutes). Remove and set aside with the chicken.

  • Add the final tbsp of oil to the pan. Stir-fry broccoli, bell pepper, carrots, and onion for 5–7 minutes or until tender-crisp.

  • Return chicken and shrimp to the pan. Pour sauce over all ingredients and stir well to coat. Cook for 2–3 more minutes, allowing sauce to thicken slightly.

  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Cook on high heat and avoid overcrowding the pan to achieve proper stir-fry texture.

Substitute shrimp or chicken with tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian version.

Add chili flakes or Sriracha for a spicy twist.

Serve with rice or noodles for a more filling meal.
